Sleep apnea has robbed me of so many years of my life. I’ve been suffering from it since the age of 13, I’m 23 Years old now and finally feel like I have my life back. Having a consistent good nights rest, seemed far fetched in my world, until now. This book is heaven sent, it still seems surreal to me .Thank you Tess from the bottom of my heart, your book has changed my life.
This book changed my life. By Michelle Miller – Photosilks Prints – 13 Sept 2016 (AMAZON review).
For the first time I became aware of what dysfunctional breathing is, and of what it does to perpetuate the occurrences of out-of-the-blue attacks of terror I have suffered from for decades. After reading Tess Graham’s book, I was so intrigued that I decided to follow her online course on breathing retraining. The book and the online course present a very gentle yet powerful technique to learn how to breathe in the way we are supposed to for optimal health, and more importantly for me, to regain peace and quiet inside when anxiety and panic attacks spin out of control. I have tried many different types of therapies, but none really helped overcome the fear until now. It is striking to me that the medical profession is so far away from understanding what healthy breathing is. A myriad of professionals will tell you to breathe deeply, and train you to do so in order to calm down your nervous system. Too often, I have heard these words: “Take a deep breath”. Every single time, it worsened my symptoms, and further convinced me that I was beyond help. I had no hope of ever been free of these attacks. They were my prison and it was a life sentence.
Following Tess Graham’s instructions, I was able to retrain myself to a healthier way to breathe. The wonderful part about this method is that it is gentle, it is easy to use during daily activities, and it feels really good! I have not felt this sense of inner peace in a very long time. This is what I have been looking for, for so long.
More than a nice to know – a need to know. By Danica, June 5, 2013 (AMAZON review)
For all suffering from snoring, sleep apnoea or just sleeping bad. There’s such a wisdom to be learned.
Read it and your wife will love you even more ….. she’s getting her beauty sleep from now on!
An important book for anyone who snores. 17 June 2014 (AMAZON review)
I thought that I knew enough about breathing. This book changed my opinions and increased my knowledge, not just about snoring and how to fix it, but how other important health issues are linked to such an apparently simple thing as breathing. I would have liked to have had my parents teach me these facts as a child. Now I tell my friends what I have learned. Don’t get the wrong idea about it being easy though. It is simple but requires some patience and perseverance to perfect. This is as a result of a long time ‘bad’ habit. However for the habitual snorer, any improvement is welcome and it could save a relationship!
We’ve forgotten how to breathe – Tim Boyd reviews Relief from Snoring and Sleep Apnoea and gives it a thumbs up. Tim Boyd in Wise Traditions in Food, Farming and the Healing Arts, the quarterly magazine of the Weston A. Price Foundation (Summer 2013).
This Book Clearly and Really Delivers by Jennifer Harris April 2, 2013, (AMAZON review)
Tess Graham’s “Relief from Snoring and Sleep Apnoea” truly honours all it claims to be – “a step-by-step guide to restful sleep and better health through changing the way you breathe”. As a natural health practitioner of forty years experience, and having studied countless texts on breathing, I heartily recommend this book as one of the best I have ever read on the subject. As well as being a specialist practitioner in her field, Tess Graham is a phenomenally brilliant educator with a writing style that makes the reader feel that she is right there in the room with them. The presentation of material that would normally be difficult to explain is made crystal clear and with such an entertaining flair.
Fellow readers and better health seekers this book is not just for snoring and sleep apnoea sufferers – it’s for all of us. Better breathing brings better health to everyone. Many know this, but people get so confused about breathing, with all the different styles and methods out there. As Tess puts it, so cleanly, so clearly, “If you want your body to function properly, there is only one way to breathe. And that is, to breathe correctly – with physiologically correct breathing.” After reading this book you will know what that is and how to achieve it. Well done Tess Graham. Thank you for this amazing book.”

We can’t opt out of breathing. We can do it well, or we can do it poorly. By Dr Ross Walker, Cardiologist, July 2012.
Relief from Snoring and Sleep Apnoea is an invaluable resource for those of us determined to maintain or restore good breathing, good health and quality sleep. Tess Graham’s easy-to-follow program shows us how to breathe the way nature intended – silently, gently and rhythmically. I, for one, sleep better for having read this book.”
— DR ROSS G T WALKER FRACP Consultant Cardiologist (from Foreword)
Hi, my name is David and I’m a snorer and it’s been 15 days since I last snored.
I no longer stop breathing – known as sleep apnoea – and the missus doesn’t get woken up by the tiles rattling to the tune of my thunderous opera. It’s been a remarkable turnaround in a few short weeks since Relax editor, Karen Hardy, sent around an email asking for a human guinea pig. Tess Graham had written a book, called Relief from Snoring and Sleep Apnoea, and it was my nasal passages’ job to put both her and her book through their paces.”
— DAVID POLKINGHORNE – Excerpt from the Canberra Times – Relax- Sunday Oct 21 2012
“This book gives a full description of the technique for getting your breathing right as well as wonderful case studies of people who have been relieved from the debilitating effects of poor sleep, snoring and sleep apnoea. My patients have found it extremely helpful and I’m so pleased to have this resource to recommend to them.”
— DR KIM GLASS MB ChB
“Tess explains things in a completely common sense way. I found the section on exercising incredibly interesting and helpful. My breathing while exercising is becoming more regular and less random and I notice that I usually feel better on the days I walk more – of course, with my mouth shut!”
— EMILY (UK)
“Tess Graham’s book is a template of the effective practices she has taught to thousands of clients and it is mercifully free from jargon and spin. It will change the way you think about breathing. So instead of just swallowing pills, inhaling drugs or clamping gadgets in your mouth or on your face, why not pay attention to the most fundamental function of our living bodies – the breath? Relief from Snoring and Sleep Apnoea could be what you’re looking for.”
— PETER THOMPSON writer, journalist, film critic Book review Byron Bay ECHO 13-11-2012
“If you have a parent, a spouse, a son or daughter with sleep-breathing problems, this is a must-read book. It guides you through a simple, natural and effective approach – one that has been all but overlooked in a medical system focused on high-tech surgical and appliance-based approaches to what is fundamentally a problem of faulty breathing habits. Isn’t it just common sense to learn to breathe correctly?”
— CHRIS WALLACE BA BEc MBA author & journalist
Tess Graham’s book not only offers a unique and enlightening perspective on the link between a mouth-breathing habit, dental arch development and sleep disorders, but also practical advice to help restore day and night time nose-breathing. The information Tess has compiled has excellent practical and clinical application and her text is a permanent fixture in our patient library. This book is a must read for patients, doctors and dental health practitioners alike.
— DR MICHAEL RYAN BDS, Member of American Academy of Craniofacial pain and Sleep Medicine
“Thirty percent of my couple therapy patients present with varying degrees of sleep disorder, some quite severe. The consequent sleep deprivation for both partners only adds to the strain on the relationship. Relief from Snoring and Sleep Apnea will be an invaluable resource for my patients.”
— PETER FOX BSc MSc MACPA Clinical Psychologist Couple Therapist
“The effectiveness of this program lies in its simplicity. In essence you learn two simple things: one is a different perspective on breathing, and the other is how to gently nudge your breathing to how it should be. The benefits are profound.”
AMANDA FERRY, BSc (Psych) PGDip Psych
“In my opinion, this is the best self-help book for overcoming chronic anxiety and panic – and I have read lots of them. With clarity, simplicity and empathy, the author shows how to use healthy breathing to take back control of how your body functions. Use this book to calm your breathing, your body and your mind.”
KAREN ST CLAIR, Counsellor
“This book changed my life. For the first time I became aware of what dysfunctional breathing is, and of what it does to perpetuate the out-of-the-blue attacks of terror I have suffered for decades. I have not felt this sense of inner peace in a very long time.” MICHELLE TAJA MILLER, BA (Psychology)
“This book gives comprehensive and enlightening information on anxiety and panic disorders and their connection with faulty ‘everyday’ breathing. It offers a self-management solution using the scientifically-based principles of Breathing Retraining which are deceptively simple and easy to follow. I love the ‘cloud exercise’. This concept is a visual and easy to manage tool that immediately offers relief of acute symptoms.”
